Apple likely to launch new M2-series MacBook Pro on Jan 17: Report

Jon Prosser, a renowned Apple leaker, has shared that the tech giant Apple will make an announcement on Tuesday; consequently propelling rumors of the debut of the much-awaited MacBook Pro.

Prosser declared that the technology giant will be sharing something through their PR newsroom, with Ian Zelbo noting it would likely be hardware-related; speculation is high this might finally reveal the long-awaited M2 series MacBook Pro updates. This report was first made by AppleInsider.

Nonetheless, when it comes to hardware, there are two probable solutions according to the recent rumors– either Apple’s upcoming immersive virtual reality headset or an upgrade with M2-series chips in Macs.

Last year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the debut of the latest virtual reality headset would likely be unveiled at some point this month. However, he recently declared that mass distribution of these headsets may not happen until either late Quarter 2 or early Quarter 3 in 2021.

In Kuo’s opinion, the delay of the headset production process was a result of issues with mechanical component drop testing and inadequate software development resources.

Additionally, the M2 Pro and M2 Max versions of the MacBook Pro were anticipated to be released sometime in 2022. Nevertheless, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, it looks like those predictions may have been postponed into 2023 or even later.

Hopefully, Apple will quench everyone’s curiosity this Tuesday when they make their announcement. Stay tuned to find out what the tech giant decides to launch.
