Today, Burger King proudly announced that Patrick O’Toole will be joining their ranks as the new Chief Marketing Officer.
For the past 14 years, O’Toole has been part of PepsiCo’s team, with his latest accomplishment being CMO for Mountain Dew and formerly acting as senior director of marketing for Tostitos. Before joining PepsiCo’s ranks he had already gained experience in companies such as GE and Black & Decker.
Tom Curtis, President of Burger King North America said in a stement-
“Pat joins us at a milestone moment for the brand, and brings the right combination of perspective, experience and expertise to position BK for success in 2023 and beyond.”
In September 2022, Burger King declared a two-year $400 million investment for its U.S.-based system known as “Reclaim the Flame“. This commitment included promotions and campaigns to help increase their market presence.
O’Toole is set to begin his tenure at the company on February 6th.
Curtis further added-
“We have an incredible plan that has been built with and endorsed by our Franchisees. Pat is joining this team to strengthen and build on our existing plans in collaboration with our franchisees, leveraging his impressive background and past experiences.”
In 2020, Burger King filled a North America-wide CMO role with Ellie Doty who had just departed from the position. Sadly, after only one year she stepped away from her post once more.
With O’Toole’s background in brand-building and leadership, Burger King is sure to rise to the challenge of taking on the competition and making a name for themselves. Their mission to ‘Reclaim the Flame’ is sure to be an exciting adventure and O’Toole is the perfect leader to take them there.
We wish him luck on his new journey!
