Ferrari recently revealed the launch date of their 2023 Formula 1 car, becoming just the second team to do so.
Last week, Aston Martin thrilled F1 fans with the announcement that their 2023 car would be unveiled on an upcoming date. Now, Ferrari have followed suit and declared they will reveal their latest race machine to the world on February 14th! The anticipation is palpable as we eagerly await these technical marvels of speed and style from two legendary teams.
Project 675 has made its way to the streets, yet it still remains unnamed.
Following two barren seasons, Ferrari’s most recent vehicle, the F1-75 has brought back their former glory in racing. After an extended drought of no wins since 2019, Charles Leclerc sprang back to life and delivered two victories from the opening three races in 2022, propelling himself and Scuderia right back into championship contention.
After a challenging season, Max Verstappen and Red Bull were triumphant in the drivers’ and constructors’ championships. Now, Ferrari is counting on their fresh new car to take them one step further after having taken second place this year.
For the third year in a row, Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will remain as Ferrari’s dynamic duo; however, there has been an overhaul at the team management-level with ex-Sauber head Frederic Vasseur taking up the role of Team Principal.
After an impressive 30-year career at Ferrari, Mattia Binotto recently vacated his leadership post and opened the door for former Renault boss Luca di Montezemolo to take the helm.
Ferrari’s newly appointed Team Principal Vasseur expressed his delighted and privileged sentiments on being assigned the job. He stated-
“As someone who has always held a lifelong passion for motorsport, Ferrari has always represented the very pinnacle of the racing world to me. I look forward to working with the talented and truly passionate team in Maranello to honour the history and heritage of the Scuderia and deliver for our Tifosi around the world.”
Since capturing the Constructors’ Championship in 2008, Scuderia have only been able to achieve second-place finishes six times.
With a new car in the works and plenty of fresh faces, Ferrari hopes to break this cycle, get back on the podium and take home their next driver’s title. We’ll need to wait until February 14th for the launch event, but one thing is certain- it will be one spectacular show!
Racing fans around the world should mark their calendars and get ready for a legendary return to the race track! Ferrari is ready to show the world that they are back with a vengeance in 2023, as they look to reclaim their position of dominance in the sport.
Will they succeed? We’ll just have to wait until February 14th and see!
