OnePlus will launch its first monitor(s) in India on December 12. As of today, the company has announced that it will soon be launching another product in a closely related category. The next product OnePlus plans to launch is a keyboard in India which has been mechanical and co-created with Keychron.
OnePlus has created a new platform called “OnePlus Featuring” that would bring “powerful, co-created outcomes to OnePlus users” in a consistent manner. This platform, which is accessible from OnePlus’s India website, seems to be focused on launching products in new categories. For instance, they recently launched a keyboard. Interestingly, as of writing this, the platform is also featuring the upcoming oneplus monitor(s).
The OnePlus Featuring platform will be determined by what users want, while the company’s choice of partners— like Keychron— is based on mutual goals. Presumably, the same mindset led to the launching of a keyboard (or monitor) in today’s market.
Although we don’t have an exact date yet, OnePlus promises to provide more information on December 15. This includes details about the launch date, shipping timeline, specs, and pricing.
In contrast, when we focus on monitor-launch-news, the situation is much clearer. On December 12, OnePlus will release two new monitors in India: the X27 and the E24. The X27 will be branded as a premium monitor that can be used for both work and leisure activities. The E24, on the contrary, will be affordably priced and focused on “everyday regular tasks or occasional entertainment,” as OnePlus has shared.
Before its launch, OnePlus announced that one of its monitors will have a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. Additionally, the monitor will be compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium.
The company has released promotional material that seems to show the OnePlus monitor(s) will have an HDMI, USB Type-C, VGA, headphone jack, and DC power ports.
It is exciting to see that OnePlus is now focusing on other product categories in addition to their smartphones. With the launch of a keyboard in India, along with their monitors, we can expect more such products from OnePlus soon. Keep watching this space for more information. We’ll bring you more information as it becomes available.
