Not $8, Paytm CEO is willing to pay $80 if Elon Musk releases this Twitter Feature

The Paytm CEO, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, recently made a bold offer to tech mogul Elon Musk – if he releases a certain Twitter feature, Sharma is willing to pay $80.

He said that if the social media company Twitter can quicken the process of blocking accounts falsely posing as Paytm’s customer service, he would be willing to pay 10 times the monthly subscription fee for Twitter Blue.

Earlier today, the Paytm founder and CEO spotted a fake account masquerading as Paytm customer service on Twitter. The imposter account, “@KritiSh65439316,” uses the name “Paytm Customer Care” and has appropriated Paytm’s logo as its profile picture. This fraudulent account has been responding to inquiring customers via Twitter direct messages.

In a recent post, an imposter Paytm account urged a Twitter user to share his phone number through direct message. They provided another supposed payee’s contact information- one Kirti Sharma.

After the fake Paytm account’s tweet, Vijay Shekhar Sharma from Paytm tweeted tagging new Twitter owner Elon Musk, and said-

“Dear Elon Musk, we will pay $80/month, if you give us methods to fast forward blocking fake accounts impersonating @PaytmCare handles here,” wrote Sharma. “(hint: they use our copyrighted logo in DP).”

The monthly subscription fee for Twitter Blue, which gave subscribers access to the coveted blue tick verification badge, was set at $8 by Elon Musk. The only issue? Musks had to discontinue the feature soon after its release when fake accounts with verified blue ticks began popping up.

On Friday, Elon Musk stated that next week Twitter will be relaunching its premium service where those with accounts can buy different colored check marks. This is all part of Twitter’s recent attempt to revive the platform after a past failure.

Musk hasn’t publicly responded to Sharma’s offer yet, but the Paytm CEO is eagerly awaiting an answer from one of Tech’s most influential figures. Only time will tell if the billionaire innovator will accept Sharma’s proposal, and together they might make a lucrative deal for both Paytm and Twitter.

Until then, the Indian public is watching this developing story with bated breath. What will happen next? Will Musk accept Sharma’s offer? Will the Paytm customer service Twitter be free from fraud and false accounts? We’ll just have to wait and find out!
