Porsche India announced the launch of two new versions of its iconic 911 Carrera T and 718 models. The Indian arm of the German carmaker is now offering the 911 Carrera T in a Sport Chrono Package and the 718 Style Edition with some upgrades from the base model, making them more attractive to customers in India.
The new Porsche 911 Carrera T starts at Rs 1.80 crore (ex-showroom), and the Style Edition versions of the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster are priced at Rs 1.44 crore and Rs 1.48 crore (ex-showroom), respectively.
The all-new 911 Carrera T is outfitted with a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine that produces 380bhp and an earth shattering 450Nm of torque.
This engine is available with either a seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. The two seater coupe can go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds (4.2 seconds with the automatic), and has a top speed of 291 kilometers per hour.
The 911 Carrera T has a sport-tuned suspension with a 10mm lower ride height over the entry-level model, as well as a sports exhaust and Sports Chrono package.
The Carrera S also comes with a mechanical limited-slip differential with torque vectoring, along with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels in Titanium Grey. The company has additionally tweaked its anti-roll bars and springs.
Most importantly, the Touring version omits the rear seats and uses cheaper sound insulation, lightweight glass, and battery to reduce weight. Consequently, it is 35kg lighter than the 911 Carrera. This car comes with an eight-speed PDK transmission and four-way adjustable sports plus seats, as well as a GT sports steering wheel.
The front and rear logos, door decals, and outside rearview mirrors are all finished in Agate Grey, while the exhaust tips get a gloss black paint. The interior of the car is a sleek combination of matte and gloss black.
The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine in the 718s is a powerful machine. It’s capable of 295 brake horsepower and 380 Newton meters of torque. The six-speed manual or optional seven-speed PDK automatic transmission makes this car even better.
Both can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 5.1 seconds (4.7 seconds with seven-speed PDK). The top speed, however, is the same for both versions and is rated at 275kmph.
The 718 Style Editions come with a fresh Ruby Star Neo paint job, black-colored tailpipes, Porsche lettering in gloss silver, and 20-inch wheels from the 718 Spyder. Special touches like two color packages in white or black make these models really stand out.
The pack will include strips for the bonnet, decals for the doors, and the model’s name at the rear. You will have a choice of black or white shade. The wheels carry will be painted too.
The 718 models come with a black leather package including Chalk stitching, illuminated doorsills, and an embroidered Porsche emblem on the headrests. In addition to these cosmetic changes, Style Edition models also get extra features like bi-xenon headlights, heated seats and steering wheels, front and rear parking sensors, etc. The Porsche 911 Carrera T and the 718 Style Edition are now available at dealerships across India, giving customers an opportunity to experience these cars first-hand. For those looking for a thrill on the road, these two models will definitely be worth checking out.
